
Duane A. Lillehaug
grew up in rural Adams County, North Dakota, and graduated from high
school in Lemmon, South Dakota. He received his undergraduate B.A.
degree from North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota, in
1971, and graduated, with distinction, from the University of North
Dakota School of Law, Grand Forks, North Dakota, in 1975. After serving
for one year as a law clerk with the North Dakota Supreme Court, his
practice has focused on trial law in North Dakota and northwestern
Minnesota for more than 28 years.Licensed by all state and federal courts in North Dakota and Minnesota, Duane is Certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by both the National Board of Trial Advocacy and the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Civil Litigation Section. He completed a term as President of the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association in 2003. Duane’s practice areas include personal injury, insurance coverage litigation, commercial and business disputes and employment law in both Minnesota and North Dakota.
He is an active volunteer for the Red Cross, and is currently serving on the Board of the Minn-Kota Chapter of the American Red Cross and on the national organization’s Resolutions Committee. Duane formerly served on and then chaired the Midwest/North Central Regional Committee for the American Red Cross. Duane, his wife and their son live in Fargo.
